I've been looking

At life as a serious project with critical rules to follow with razorsharp steps that required precise completion.
I think that may be incorrect.
Maybe life is rather, a series of small, playful experiments that should be undertaken with curiosity and casuality. There is no right or wrong; no graded plan, rather it's an open format that allows one to weave in and out, pass, fail and learn in whatever way one sees fit.
A series of roads to take rather than a defined, singular path.
What if there wasn't a proverbial rulebook and a harsh timetable?
What if it's not a race or a test, just a really long playdate?
